This study examines Elena Garro’s ‘La culpa es de los tlaxcaltecas’ (La semana de colores, 1964) and aims to analyse the role of the character’s body as a point of friction that catalyses ambiguity in the fantastic genre. Drawing on the phenomenology of perception and the sociology of the body in the modern period, the essay reflects on the body as an intermediary agent between both dimensions. The study focuses on the narratological and symbolic function of blood as an element of conjunction between the two different ontological orders that clash in the narrative.
