This paper presents NooJ as a symbolic interface for formally representing of recursive linguistic structures in Digital Humanities and computational linguistics. The study argues that controlled grammar plays a central role in preserving interpretability, structural coherence, and semantic transparency. This stands in contrast to purely statistical or black-box approaches in Natural Language Processing.

Abstract

This paper presents NooJ as a symbolic interface for formally representing of recursive linguistic structures in Digital Humanities and computational linguistics.
