Entre fidelidad y adaptación musical: la traducción del texto cantado en la combinación italiano-español

The translation of songs is a complex process that requires the interlinguistic adaptation of verbal con-tent to the musical parameters of a song—melody, rhythm, and harmony—while preserving its stylistic and emotional dimensions. This type of translation also entails considering cultural and linguistic fac-tors, vocal performance, and the performative dimension of the song, given its inherently multimodal nature. Despite the growing scholarly interest in audiovisual translation, applied research on the trans-lation and adaptation of songs in the Spanish–Italian language is still limited. This paper aims to ad-dress this gap by offering a comparative analysis of the main strategies and challenges involved in the translation into Spanish of internationally well-known Italian songs.
