This article explores the first Spanish version of "Les remedes charitables de Madame Fouquet", a collection of remedies originally published in 17th-century France. The work enjoyed an extensive editorial history, undergoing numerous editions and translations. With the aim of exploring the processes of reception and linguistic adaptation that characterise the Spanish edition, we will analyse the editorial history of Fouquet’s work in Spain and carry out a comparative study of the first edition of the Spanish translation (Valladolid, 1748) and its French source text (Lyon, 1739). The data collected confirm the dissemination of the collection across Spain and the interest of the target audience of the time. They also highlight the role of active recipient and mediator that the translator played at both the textual and terminological levels.
