This article reviews the ethno-graphic novel I Disconosciuti ("The Disavowed"), authored by Francesco Della Puppa and a collaborative team of screenwriters and illustrators. The book explores the lives of asylum seekers in a northern Italian town who exist outside the formal reception system, residing in marginal spaces such as bridges and homeless shelters. It serves as a significant example of public sociology, legitimising the graphic narrative as a vital tool for ethnographic critique and the dissemination of social science research.
