¿Estéticas al margen? Violencia y resistencias en la poesía documental peruana contemporánea: "Sisma" de Paul Guillén

In the context of the ‘archival turn’ and the ‘documentary turn’ that the arts have experienced in recent years, this essay explores the so-called ‘documentary poetry’, with a focus on the aesthetic approach of the Peruvian poet Paul Guillén in Sisma: Poema Documental. We aim to examine the challenges this form of poetry entails as an art form and to investigate how it is beginning to gain traction in Peru as one of the preferred methods for exploring the contradictions in the processes of reconstructing memories of individual and collective traumatic events, such as the devastating earthquake that struck Peru in 2007, which is the central subject of Paul Guillén’s poetry collection.
