Reading is a fundamental element in students' academic and personal development, and public libraries play an important role in promoting reading habits. In this context, illustrated non-fiction books (LINF) emerge as an informative and entertaining resource with high educational potential that also allows reading to be perceived as a leisure activity. Therefore, the aim of this research is to analyse the LINF collection of a public library in Veneto (Italy) in order to determine its presence, characteristics and link to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This was carried out using a quantitative, non-experimental and descriptive methodology through a documentary analysis. To this end, a registration form was used to classify LINF according to bibliographic data such as authors and year of publication, SDGs and Universal Decimal Classification. The results show that this type of book accounts for only 0.75% of the library's total collection, that there is a predominance of female authors, that the most frequently addressed topics are scientific and technological, that the most frequent SDGs are SDGs 4, 15 and 3, and that the most represented publisher is Editoriale Scienza. In short, although representation is low, their educational value is significant, but the low thematic diversity highlights the need to expand the diversity of topics to promote a comprehensive education. Keywords: Library; Illustrated non-fiction books; documentary analysis; Sustainable Development Goals; Universal Decimal Classification.
