This contribution presents the results of a research conducted in the field of the neuro humanities as part of the broader project “Neurocities and Ruinscapes: Reconstructing Ancient Cities and Ruins Using Virtual Reality”. The study focuses on the analysis of selected panoramic views by Canaletto and Piranesi to understand how much the historical urban landscape has changed since the artists’ time. In addition to these views, the observers will also be presented with landscapes generated by GenAI based on textual topographic descriptions passed down from ancient literary sources.

Abstract
