This contribution provides an edition of two Latin poetic texts, previously unpublished and unattributed, that are extant in manuscript form on fol. 4lr of Manilio Cabacio Rallo’s edition of Iuveniles ingenii lusus (1520), held by the Estense Library of Modena. The two poems, which develop a comparison between Vittoria Colonna and the figure of Portia, are here discussed and annotated with particular attention to the intellectual context surrounding Colonna during her Neapolitan years and to a parallel composition that poses several problems of attribution.
