When Pietro Zampetti (1913-2011) became the directorate of the Galleries of the Marche he promoted the first thematic study of local heritage, examining the traditional reading on the denominator of the culture of the Adriatic. Crossing the historical territorial boundaries, the theme have offered an unusual interpretative key. This study, conducted on a careful and well documented survey, presents the first considerations for a critical edition of the “Mostra della Pittura Veneta” in the Marches of 1950, placing the event in relation with the history of the civic art gallery of Ancona and in the context of post-war reconnaissance exhibitions.
