The essay discusses the topic of "predictive jurisprudence", ie an ap- plication of artificial intelligence to jurisprudence capable of providing a probabil- istic forecast on the outcome of a dispute, on a statistical basis. Starting from the experience of the Court of Appeal of Venice, which carried out the project in collab- oration with the Ca ‘Foscari University of Venice, the author tackles the issue from different points of view, not only juridical, and highlights the advantages of a model of predictive jurisprudence. In conclusion, the A. believes that the tool can provide important help to legal practitioners, also as a function of greater legal certainty, and should certainly be used, without however replacing the office of the judge.
