Les terres cachées. Recherche sur les concepts doctrinaux et le récit folklorique entre l’Inde et le Tibet méridional

The article is inspired by an ethnographic fieldwork carried out on the eastern Himalayan ridge which constitutes the extreme northeastern frontier of India. The description of a peculiar geography, rich in history and culture, introduces a theoretical analysis of some doctrinal aspects of Tibetan Buddhism, with particular reference to the concepts of terma and beyül. The search for the 'hidden lands' also offers a corollary of elements, drawing on the imaginary of indigenous natives cultures, translatin also the liminality of everyday life with a subtle reality. In conclusion, a holistic methodological research model is theorized, integrating the set of elements considered as a folklore in the making, for a better understanding of this extraordinary high land.
