This study aims to investigate Angelo Poliziano’s passion for books as artifacts and sentimental objects. Three particular examples are analysed for this purpose, covering very different events, but united by a punctilious and passionate attention to books, as objects of study but also, always, as charged with an affective and personal surplus. This analysis will also allow us to illuminate Poliziano’s relations with the Medici circle and the Florentine and Venetian intellectual world involved in his book hunts.
