This paper aims to analyse how the Italian adverb mica – an invariable part of speech that can modify the meaning of a verb and is marked diatopically – can be expressed in Spanish by means of translation. In order to achieve this objective, after a brief linguistic approach to the uses and functions of this peculiar adverb, we will study in depth the contribution of bilingual lexicographical repertoires in facilitating the translating activity and, as a last step, we will check the possibilities of expression in Spanish of this adverb by means of a small corpus of original Italian texts which have an accredited translation into Spanish. We will adopt a qualitative methodology and interestingly we will focus on the variety of the translation results.

Abstract
This paper aims to analyse how the Italian adverb mica – an invariable part of speech that can modify the meaning of a verb and is marked diatopically – can be expressed in Spanish by means of translation. In order to achieve this objective, after a brief linguistic approach to the uses and functions of this peculiar adverb, we will study in depth the contribution of bilingual lexicographical repertoires in facilitating the translating activity and, as a last step, we will check the possibilities of expression in Spanish of this adverb by means of a small corpus of original Italian texts which have an accredited translation into Spanish. We will adopt a qualitative methodology and interestingly we will focus on the variety of the translation results.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
