The list o prehistoric sites, derived from the collections of the Museo di Storia Naturale, and integrated with the research of the Nucleo Operativo della Soprintendenza Archeologica del Veneto, provides a composite and dynamic scenario of human presence, starting from the lower Palaeolithic, without a break in continuity up until the arrival of the Romans. The Museo di Storia Naturale, with its collections, has always constituted for Verona a center of naturalistic culture where preference is given to the preservation and popularization of the evidences from his territory in order to have a better knowledge of the relationship between man and his environment. This results of the investigation show a territory populated from 500,000 years ago up until the 1st century A.D., a quite rare case in the Italian prehistory panorama. This work must be considered a basis for future research which could study more in detail the settlement strategy and spatial distribution. The sites have been placed on a topographic digital base map at 20,000, georeferenced in order to allow the cartographic restitution of various chronological and planimetrical elements.
