The painted Punic pottery from Tharros is original in the great emphasis on the figurative motifs compared to the more traditional linear patterns. The analysis of some of the phytomorphic and zoomorphic themes carried out in this study emphasizes the autonomy of the Tharros ceramic figurative painting. Moving into the traditional imagery of Carthage, this figurative painting shares its repertoire with the ceramic production of the North African metropolis, as well as with Carthaginian bronzes, glyptic and votive stelae.

Abstract
The painted Punic pottery from Tharros is original in the great emphasis on the figurative motifs compared to the more traditional linear patterns. The analysis of some of the phytomorphic and zoomorphic themes carried out in this study emphasizes the autonomy of the Tharros ceramic figurative painting. Moving into the traditional imagery of Carthage, this figurative painting shares its repertoire with the ceramic production of the North African metropolis, as well as with Carthaginian bronzes, glyptic and votive stelae.File in questo prodotto:
