Taking as a starting point E.A. Poe’s reflection of the most poetic and melancholic subject (a poem dedicated to death) this article analyzes Libro del frío (1986-1992), a book of poetry by Antonio Gamoneda, which can be considered crucial in his poetic trajectory. The poet himself defined the book as an extension of the question he posed in Descripción de la mentira: “Después del conocimiento y el olvido, ¿qué pasión me concierne?” Some of Gamoneda’s declarations of poetics are analyzed along with the poetic mechanisms that define a way of silence, of allusions, in a centripetal expression, that manifests itself in a book of hypnotic cryptic poetry with combinations of colors (black and white ) and obsessive semantic fields (the ruin, the fragment).

Abstract
Taking as a starting point E.A. Poe’s reflection of the most poetic and melancholic subject (a poem dedicated to death) this article analyzes Libro del frío (1986-1992), a book of poetry by Antonio Gamoneda, which can be considered crucial in his poetic trajectory. The poet himself defined the book as an extension of the question he posed in Descripción de la mentira: “Después del conocimiento y el olvido, ¿qué pasión me concierne?” Some of Gamoneda’s declarations of poetics are analyzed along with the poetic mechanisms that define a way of silence, of allusions, in a centripetal expression, that manifests itself in a book of hypnotic cryptic poetry with combinations of colors (black and white ) and obsessive semantic fields (the ruin, the fragment).File | Dimensione | Formato | |
