The present article analyzes the dialogue that the story “La boina roja” (1954) by the Panamanian writer Rogelio Sinán establishes with science fiction. It will be seen how the text is placed in the interstice between the mythical and the scientific story, at the same time that it resorts to a technicalization of the mythical material by the discourse of science, which allows the interaction between estrangement and cognition. The conflict between myth and science narrativizes the asymmetric condition between external hegemonic schemes and internal social configuration practices that single out the neocolonial modernity of Panama and Central America.

Abstract
The present article analyzes the dialogue that the story “La boina roja” (1954) by the Panamanian writer Rogelio Sinán establishes with science fiction. It will be seen how the text is placed in the interstice between the mythical and the scientific story, at the same time that it resorts to a technicalization of the mythical material by the discourse of science, which allows the interaction between estrangement and cognition. The conflict between myth and science narrativizes the asymmetric condition between external hegemonic schemes and internal social configuration practices that single out the neocolonial modernity of Panama and Central America.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
