IFF come strumento di pianificazione territoriale e riqualificazione fluviale

This doctoral research fits into the framework of the indices for the fluvial ecosystems evaluation, aiming at the development of an innovative methodology that permits to elaborate proposals for the sustainable management of fluvial ecosystems. The methodology is focused on the FFI (Fluvial Functioning Index - Siligardi et al., 2007). In particular, the PhD research proposes a useful procedure for the relative functioning evaluation and guidelines for defining the potential functioning of river reaches. Main research outcome is the elaboration of river restoration proposals, based on a sustainable planning of floodplain and parafluvial areas. The study area consists of the left and right tributaries of the river Brenta (Trento Province, Italy). The PhD activity also includes the FFI adjustment to the Cordillera context of the Araucanía Region in Chile.
