This paper reconsiders a well-known monument (Fig. 10.1), the relief depicting Nero crowned by his mother Agrippina the Younger from the Sebasteion of Aphrodisias. It focusses on pointing out some considerations about the relief and some aspects of other artworks connected to the theme of imperial coronations, specifically a cameo in the collections of the Hermitage in St. Petersburg that has remained on the fringes of scholarly studies.
