Fascist Italy in the Age of Corporatism. Searching for a Third Way

Alessio Gagliardi’s book situates the establishment of the Fascist corporative state and the political and institutional processes involved in the broader context of the quest for an alternative to the liberal economy and to the principle of political representation that took shape in Europe during the interwar period. The overall picture of fascist corporatism is perhaps outlined at the price of a certain flattening of the argument; Nevertheless, the book deserves full recognition for having appropriately placed Italian Fascist corporatism on the map of the international historiography, where it rightfully finds its place.
