Il concetto di "negazione" in Per l'ontologia dell'essere sociale di Lukács

This article examines the intricate and multifaceted relationship between Lukács and Hegel, focusing on the issue of dialectical negation—a pivotal concern for the development of a Marxist social ontology. The opening sections of this text aim to shed light on the rich philosophical constellation within which Lukács elaborated his treatment of Hegelian dialectical negation (including his engagements with Neo-Kantians and his reading of Heidegger), as presented in the pages of his Ontology. This reconstruction will subsequently allow for a critical interrogation of Lukács’s thesis concerning the non-universality of dialectical negation, particularly with regard to the practical and speculative impasses it imposes on the project of a Marxist ontology.
