This paper presents the initial stages of a project devoted to coreference resolution in Latin texts. The project aims to explore empirically a level of metalinguistic annotation that, despite its importance, has so far received limited attention in research on Latin language resources and Natural Language Processing. The paper outlines the project's theoretical and methodological framework and provides an example of the proposed annotation workflow.
