This paper focuses on the comparison between Emanuele Severino and Gianni Vattimo, attempting to highlight how both thinkers – albeit in radically different ways – steer philosophical discourse toward a mode of thought that is neither “strong” nor “weak”. In this regard, Severino’s interpretation is particularly illuminating: he views Vattimo’s ontology as aligning with Ugo Spirito’s problematicism, following in the wake of Gentile’s actualism. The inquiry engages with concepts such as becoming and history, being and nothingness, at the heart of a reflection on nihilism and its destiny in the contemporary era – a subject that demands careful exploration regarding its origins and potential future developments.

Abstract
This paper focuses on the comparison between Emanuele Severino and Gianni Vattimo, attempting to highlight how both thinkers – albeit in radically different ways – steer philosophical discourse toward a mode of thought that is neither “strong” nor “weak”. In this regard, Severino’s interpretation is particularly illuminating: he views Vattimo’s ontology as aligning with Ugo Spirito’s problematicism, following in the wake of Gentile’s actualism. The inquiry engages with concepts such as becoming and history, being and nothingness, at the heart of a reflection on nihilism and its destiny in the contemporary era – a subject that demands careful exploration regarding its origins and potential future developments.I documenti in ARCA sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
