In the academic year 2023-2024, following a request from the Facoltà Teologica dell'Italia Centrale in Florence, we designed and implemented a blended Italian as a second language course for a group of students enrolled in the Faculty. This essay will outline the main lines of the project and describe in particular the profile of learners of Italian as a second language enrolled in a religious institution, as outlined by the data collected during the course. The learner profile will ultimately serve to define a series of guidelines for teaching Italian as a second language to this specific audience.
