The ATLAS guidelines were developed as part of the PRIN 2022 ATLAS project to address a gap in the Digital Humanities (DH) landscape: the lack of practical guidance for making Humanities digital research products compliant with the FAIR principles (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reusability). Building upon the ALLEA (All European Academies) recommendations, the document offers specific strategies for five key categories: digital scholarly editions, text collections, software tools, ontologies, and linked open datasets. The guidelines complement existing disciplinary standards by providing direct references to tools and best practices. Tested with undergraduate and PhD students, they demonstrated a high degree of usefulness and completeness, confirming their role as an essential resource for improving the quality, citability, and long-term relevance of DH research.
