GoJewishGo is an augmented reality project designed in the context of GO! 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorizia European Capital of Culture. The central theme of the initiative revolves around the concept of border, which is a very relevant issue in the area due to the tormented history of the cities, which are two parts of an urban center split between two countries in the 20th century, because of war events. GoJewishGo is a digital platform targeted at rediscovering, through AR, places that belong to the Jewish tradition and that are located on both sides of these borders. The project, therefore, offers an opportunity for underlining a common European heritage, proposing transnational touristic itineraries. Besides, GoJewishGo is a project that promotes the integration of the digital platform with the work of human guides operating in this transnational territory, improving the visitors’ experience regarding knowledge, emotions, and accessibility. The preliminary evaluation with a group of trained guides gave positive feedback in this respect.
