This paper explores the presence and significance of metal, particularly aes rude, in Venetic sanctuaries between the seventh and third centuries BCE, and of coinage in the Roman Age within the same contexts. In the pre-Roman phase, aes rude, although common in residential and funerary settings, are rarely found in sanctuaries. In the Roman Age, the presence of coins in sanctuaries of Venetia is more widespread, yet still relatively limited. The chronological analysis suggests that a significant use of coinage in sanctuaries did not predate the late second century BCE, indicating a strong correlation with the progressive Romanization of the territory rather than pre-existing indigenous traditions.
