This paper, starting with Anaximander, aims to explore the genesis of the idea of the world, highlighting the vocabulary and fundamental theoretical ingredients of a concept that has been central to Western philosophical and scientific thought since its origins. It offers a brief dialogue with the classical and modern thinkers who represent the indispensable witnesses to this important speculative theme: 1) Anaximander, Heraclitus, Parmenides: kosmos and dike; 2) Plato: the justice of the world; 3) Hegel: the becoming of the world; 4) Nancy: the creation of the world. The outcome of this investigation evokes Gentile's disconcerting appeal to the autoctisis of the world, suggesting how, beyond the Western metaphysical and antimetaphysical tradition, it refers to an enigmatic world without things.

Abstract
This paper, starting with Anaximander, aims to explore the genesis of the idea of the world, highlighting the vocabulary and fundamental theoretical ingredients of a concept that has been central to Western philosophical and scientific thought since its origins. It offers a brief dialogue with the classical and modern thinkers who represent the indispensable witnesses to this important speculative theme: 1) Anaximander, Heraclitus, Parmenides: kosmos and dike; 2) Plato: the justice of the world; 3) Hegel: the becoming of the world; 4) Nancy: the creation of the world. The outcome of this investigation evokes Gentile's disconcerting appeal to the autoctisis of the world, suggesting how, beyond the Western metaphysical and antimetaphysical tradition, it refers to an enigmatic world without things.I documenti in ARCA sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
