The article examines the contrast between divine judgment and human judgment in the literature produced by the various schools of thought within Judaism between the Second Temple period and the era of the formation and affirmation of Rabbinic Judaism until medieval Iberian Qabbalah. The theological- political relevance of this theme is also considered as an element of differentiation between competing ideologies.
