The article addresses the work by Gianikian and Ricci Lucchi in relation to the Armenian legacy of the artists' family and the history of the Armenian people. It does so focussing on Gianikian and Ricci Lucchi's participation to the Armenian Pavilion at the 2025 Venice Biennial of Art, which entailed two works in their oeuvre. The text moves from the specific circumstance of the Pavilion to propose a broader theoretical reflection revolving around the issue of materiality and witnessing.
