The subject of this two-volume work is linked to individual cases of libraries and private book collections on the island of Corfu, a Venetian possession of the Stato da Mar from the 16th to the 18th century. This work was published by Aton Editions in collaboration with the Corfu Reading Society, the oldest cultural institution in modern Greece. The author has already worked with the monastic libraries of Corfu, and now with this significant work she is expanding her area of study to the island's private libraries to contribute once again to the social and cultural history of the Ionian Islands during Venetian rule.
