Among the many aspects considered in diplomatic theory in Early Modern Spain, certain key points relate to the location of the mission. This work examines the idea of the perfect Spanish ambassador at the court of Vienna: to that end, it outlines the Hispano-Austrian relations as a framework, then proceeds to study the commentary on the Empire found in Spanish treatises of the 17th century, and finally relates these ideas to the classical concept of kairos, which has ethical, rhetorical, and political dimensions.

Abstract
Among the many aspects considered in diplomatic theory in Early Modern Spain, certain key points relate to the location of the mission. This work examines the idea of the perfect Spanish ambassador at the court of Vienna: to that end, it outlines the Hispano-Austrian relations as a framework, then proceeds to study the commentary on the Empire found in Spanish treatises of the 17th century, and finally relates these ideas to the classical concept of kairos, which has ethical, rhetorical, and political dimensions.File in questo prodotto:
