The article deals with the problems concerning a manuscript from the Guimerà’s documents collection of the Biblioteca de Catalunya in Barcelona containing the authorless Italian version of the theatrical work Mar i cel by Guimerà. The introduction deals with the main problems of the manuscript, such as authorship (of the theatrical piece and of the translation) title, dating of the translation and the provenance of the document, as well as a description of the manuscript which introduces the edition. In the footnotes reader will also find ome remarks about the possible textual sources of the translation (the various Mar i cel texts by Guimerà and/or the Spanish version of Gaspar).
