Engaging young people with neurodevelopmental disorders in technology co-design and physical computing can empower them in different manners. This position paper focuses on Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) children and physical computing for co-designing with them, to give them new expression means and promote their self-agency. It starts presenting recent research on tools for collaboratively engaging young learners in co-design with physical computing. Then the paper overviews characteristics of ADHD children that matter for enabling them to fully participate in co-design with physical computing, or which can hamper their engagement. It concludes with challenges for future research related to co-design with physical computing as an empowerment opportunity for ADHD children.
