The article takes up some key concepts from Derrida’s “The Beast and the Sovereign”. Metaphysics is a Robinson Crusoe Island where the philosopher is a solitary sovereign, overbearing and at the same time extremely vulnerable. Derridian deconstruction, however, does not destroy this island to simply return to the city. Instead, it is about “being able to be double” in the city, always exposed to solitude, but not in a self-referential way.

Abstract
The article takes up some key concepts from Derrida’s “The Beast and the Sovereign”. Metaphysics is a Robinson Crusoe Island where the philosopher is a solitary sovereign, overbearing and at the same time extremely vulnerable. Derridian deconstruction, however, does not destroy this island to simply return to the city. Instead, it is about “being able to be double” in the city, always exposed to solitude, but not in a self-referential way.File in questo prodotto:
