Studio e sviluppo di metodologie e materiali per la conservazione di dipinti murali contemporanei all'aperto/Study and development of methodologies and materials for the conservation of outdoor contemporary mural paintings

This PhD research is focused on contemporary outdoor mural paintings (mainly from the XX century and mainly created through traditional techniques) and it has two different aims: - to study the conservative methodologies used on contemporary outdoor mural paintings in order to understand which are the best conservation methods for different mural paintings in different environmental conditions; - to develop new materials for conservation and/or to understand which industrial materials, not meant to be used in the restoration field, could have a role in the conservative interventions. This study hopes to increase awareness on the importance of considering the context where the artwork is situated before intervening and of a proper choice of the materials for conservation.
