The third volume of the series LautSchriftSprache | ScriptandSound brings together papers from the 2018 Munich conference on graphemics, organized in collaboration with the RuneS project (Runische Schriftlichkeit in den germanischen Sprachen). As the title suggests, the volume focuses on the relationship between signs and phonemes, but its scope extends beyond narrow phonographic concerns: it seeks to establish a shared terminology for graphematics and to illustrate the processes of script adaptation across cultures. The editors Alessia Bauer and Gaby Waxenberger, assisted by Paola Cotticelli-Kurras, have assembled a wide range of contributions that address theoretical questions, the adaptation of alphabets in Italic and Celtic contexts, and, most prominently, the diachrony of runic scripts.

Abstract
The third volume of the series LautSchriftSprache | ScriptandSound brings together papers from the 2018 Munich conference on graphemics, organized in collaboration with the RuneS project (Runische Schriftlichkeit in den germanischen Sprachen). As the title suggests, the volume focuses on the relationship between signs and phonemes, but its scope extends beyond narrow phonographic concerns: it seeks to establish a shared terminology for graphematics and to illustrate the processes of script adaptation across cultures. The editors Alessia Bauer and Gaby Waxenberger, assisted by Paola Cotticelli-Kurras, have assembled a wide range of contributions that address theoretical questions, the adaptation of alphabets in Italic and Celtic contexts, and, most prominently, the diachrony of runic scripts.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
