The paper discusses Anna Boncompagni’s book "Wittgenstein on Forms of Life" (2022) dwelling on: 1) the methodological vs. substantial distinction in understanding Wittgenstein’s notion of forms of life; 2) the continuity/discontinuity between the early and later Wittgenstein, especially with regard to the notion of form; and 3) the connection between forms of life and the notion of foundation, and its implications for Wittgenstein’s alleged relativism or conservatism.
