This work focuses on the use of unstructured qualitative interviews as a tool for participatory archaeology within the community of Lio Piccolo, in the northern lagoon of Venice. In 2021 an ethnographic field analysis gathered perceptions and personal stories related to the cultural and archaeological heritage of the area. Through the interviews, it was possible to create a bottom-up archaeological map and a toponymic map, based on the stories and memories of the inhabitants. The interviews were also subjected to advanced textual analysis using topic modeling techniques, allowing the identification and analysis of the main topics and word association networks present in the participants’ discourse.
