The essay addresses the theme of social parenting by delving into the inclusion of the 'acquired' parent in the context of exercising parental responsibility. It aims to explore an alternative path compared to the ex ante recognition of filiation status, in accordance with European and supranational principles of protecting the best interest of the child as well as the right to private and family life as outlined in Article 8 of the ECHR and Article 7 of the EU Charter.

Abstract
