This paper presents a collection of nine datasets developed as part of a PhD research project in Archaeology to investigate landscape transformations in the hinterland of Ravenna. The collection includes both primary and processed data, comprising the most extensive geoarchaeological dataset for the region, the first digital catalogue of medieval sites, palaeogeographical reconstructions of rivers and wetlands evolution, and palaeotopographical diachronic reconstructions in the form of palaeoDEMs. These datasets provide a valuable resource for researchers studying the long-term environmental and human landscape dynamics of the area and can support local desktop-based assessments in development-led archaeology. As one of the first open-access data collections of its kind, this work not only facilitates research on the hinterland of Ravenna but also offers opportunities for comparative studies with other regions across Italy and beyond.
