In the contribution, it is explained how the non-Roman coinages of certain European territories, starting from the 2nd century BC, developed in a way that allowed them to integrate, either directly or indirectly, with the Roman Republican coinage. This phenomenon can be explained not only as a consequence of Rome's economic and political influence, but also as an effect of the ability of indigenous communities to exploit the situation to their advantage.
