This article presents the results of qualitative research carried out in Venice from March to June 2024 on the operational mechanisms of the labor market within the artistic and traditional craft sector, with the aim of identifying the factors contributing to the mismatch between labor supply and demand in the sector. The main issues that emerge from the research concern four aspects: the narrative surrounding artisan work; the lack of a structured system connecting enterprises with educational and vocational training institutions; the gap between training curricula and the skills demanded by enterprises; and the recruitment practices utilized by the enterprises under study.
