This paper aims to propose a typology and, subsequently, an updated chronology of the broad-shoulder jars typical of pre-Roman Veneto. The specimens here analysed come from the Padua and Este necropolises, where they were mainly used as ossuaries. Furthermore, by analyzing grave goods and the bronze prototypes of some of the jars, an attempt will be made to outline their use and function in the funerary context and beyond.

Abstract
This paper aims to propose a typology and, subsequently, an updated chronology of the broad-shoulder jars typical of pre-Roman Veneto. The specimens here analysed come from the Padua and Este necropolises, where they were mainly used as ossuaries. Furthermore, by analyzing grave goods and the bronze prototypes of some of the jars, an attempt will be made to outline their use and function in the funerary context and beyond.File in questo prodotto:
