The Carnation Revolution sought to place Portugal in a new era, where the Portuguese could finally think, in the words of Eduardo Lourenço, «inside», not in escape by sea, through an imaginary that composed that «prodigious unrealism of image that the Portuguese» created of themselves. This communication aims to verify the imagery present in several poems from Portuguese literature, seeking check, fifty years later, how habitable the country has become and what are the new challenges to be faced. The text presents the poetic way in searching for freedom during the 20th century and the slam poetry scene, as well as other vocalizations between art and activism.
