This contribution examines the textual implications of the works of Thomas Aquinas in Theosophia and Iacopo Passavanti’s Specchio della vera penitenzia. By reading a case of their translation into the vernacular treatise, we also reflect on the attribution of the Latin work to the Dominican friar of Santa Maria Novella.

Abstract
This contribution examines the textual implications of the works of Thomas Aquinas in Theosophia and Iacopo Passavanti’s Specchio della vera penitenzia. By reading a case of their translation into the vernacular treatise, we also reflect on the attribution of the Latin work to the Dominican friar of Santa Maria Novella.
