Allungamento della aspettativa di vita e istituti familiari

The relentless aging of the world’s population, a phenomenon destined to have certain as yet unforeseeable repercussions on all socio-economic systems, today also imposes on the jurist a careful reflection, a change of perspective in the analysis of social dynamics and, above all, of the legal institutions that contribute to regulating them, in order to assess their suitability to respond to the needs of a society in which individuals already have an average life expectancy much higher than that expected at the time of their implementation. Embracing this challenge, this paper focuses on some of the main institutions of family law, as a branch of law that has always been more exposed than others to be impacted by continuous social change, by the profound transformations that follow one generation after another.
