BREVI CONSIDERAZIONI SUL RAPPORTO DEGLI ESPERTI DEL GRUPPO DI ALTO LIVELLO IN TEMA DI FAKE NEWS

Since its origins, modern constitutionalism has considered freedom of speech as a prominent issue, a cornerstone of any democratic society and the distinguishing characteristic of it. In the last few years the European constitutions have acquired new legal instruments to regulate the exercise of freedom of speech by reference to the diffusion of fake news.The following contribution aims to re-flect on the issue taking into consideration the findings of the recent “Report of the independent High level Group on fake news and online disinformation” called for by the European Commission with the purpose of considering it a premise to the future political and legal initiatives which will be adopted to regulate the problem of misinformation in politics on the internet.
