Abstract
The underwater site of Nido del Cuervo was discovered by chance in 1977. Some amphoras and stamped lead ingots were recovered, and the site was interpreted as a late-Republican shipwreck. In 1992, after an underwater survey campaign, other ceramic artefacts were extracted and some remains of naval architecture were documented. The material collection in its entirety, however, has never been analysed. Through the re-examination of the excavation documents and materials and the analysis of the maritime constraints on navigation, this contribution aims to provide new data characterising the nature of the deposit and some considerations on the navigation dynamics and possible causes of the shipwreck.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
